protecting the environment

The Brewery of Pécs is committed to protect the environment, thus, with all its possible tools it aims at minimising the burden on nature resulted from production.

One of the tools of this kind is a bottle washing-machine, which needs substantially less energy than previously, and reduces the amount of water used for brewing. While in the past 10 litres of water were used for brewing 1 litre of beer, with this new technology the amount went down to 6.3 litres.

The Brewery of Pécs is undoubtedly committed to quality

The Brewery of Pécs has always been committed to quality. All the quality requirements of the food industry have been given priority for the sake of serving our partners and meeting the high-level demands of our customers in the best possible way. However, as a result of partners’ needs and the recent scandals in the Hungarian food sector we have been encouraged to set up a strategy. According to this document, the Brewery of Pécs undertakes the introduction of the International Food Standard (IFS) so that the quality-minded approach already present in our decision-making, management and production becomes officially recognised.

By introducing such a system the brewery also laid down the principles of a new quality policy. The cornerstone of this decision is built upon the commitment of the management to keeping to standards, the legal and safe production and delivery procedures, keeping to deadlines, together with minimising customer complaints and carefully choosing the right suppliers.

The introduction of the IFS system in 2006 was highly successful and therefore the Brewery of Pécs obtained a higher-level certificate. So far, the system has been functioning well, which allows the company to expect the forthcoming audit without any doubts. Parallel to this, the brewery started working on introducing another standard: the ISO 22000, which will have a decisive role in food industry in the future.
